At the High School for Enterprise, Business and Technology, students have access to several pathways to earn college credits before they even finish high school. These credits save money, build confidence, and prepare students for success in college and career.


💼 1. College Now at LaGuardia Community College (CUNY)

Through our partnership with LaGuardia CC, students can take college courses for free right at EBT or online. These are real college classes, and students earn official CUNY transcripts.

Courses offered include:

  • LIF100: First Year Seminar

  • MAT120: Statistics

  • MAC100: Computer Fundamentals

  • MAC108: Introduction to Python Programming

Eligible for 11th and 12th graders with strong attendance and academic standing.

🧠 2. LIU Early College Program

EBT partners with Long Island University (LIU Brooklyn) to offer college-level courses through the LIU Early College Program. Students take LIU-approved courses taught by EBT faculty and earn official LIU credit.

Highlights:

  • Courses count toward LIU degrees and are transferable

  • Credits appear on a Long Island University transcript

  • Students experience college expectations while in high school

🏛 3. Advanced Placement (AP)

Students enrolled in AP courses can earn college credit by scoring a 3 or higher on the AP exam. The credit earned depends on each college’s AP credit policy.

Popular AP courses at EBT include:

  • AP U.S. History

  • AP Environmental Science

  • AP Computer Science Principles

  • AP World History

  • AP English Language

  • AP Precalculus

  • AP African American Studies

💡 Most public colleges in New York State (CUNY/SUNY) accept AP scores of 3+. Many private schools accept scores of 4 or 5 for credit.

🌍 4. International Baccalaureate (IB)

EBT’s IB program allows students to take rigorous, globally recognized courses. Students who score well on IB assessments can earn college credit at international and U.S. universities.

Universities that recognize IB credits include:

  • New York University (NYU)

  • University of Toronto

  • Stanford University

  • Columbia University

  • University of Edinburgh

  • UCLA and many others

Credit policies vary by subject and college. Typically, students must earn scores of 5 or higher on higher-level IB exams.

Students in our Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways can earn college credit through articulation agreements with partner colleges. These agreements reward students for completing rigorous CTE coursework and passing industry certifications.

🔐 Cybersecurity (FutureReadyNYC)

Earn college credit by completing:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications

  • TestOut curriculum mastery

🌐 Cisco Networking

Earn credit by completing:

  • CCST: IT, Networking, or Security
